Why we love this flower:

  • Uses: Cut flower, ideal for drying, Chamomile tea
  • Garden growth success: Easy
  • Vase life: 10-14 days

Matricaria, also known as Feverfew, is one of several different species in the daisy family that have the common name Chamomile.

Fully double 3/4" to 1" blooms uniformly fill the top of the plant, making it a very productive cut flower. Blooms are pure white with citrus-yellow to lime-green centers.

Feverfew flowering is generally initiated during the longest days of the season. Plants will eventually bloom under short-day conditions but on shorter stems. For bouquets, harvest the flowers when flower clusters are 3/4 open. For dried arrangements, harvest when clusters are almost fully open. Dried flowers can be steeped in hot water to make Chamomile tea.

Treat spring-planted Feverfew as an annual for the best plant habit and flower production.
